General Club Information

About club:  The Venture Out Glass Art Club provides a welcoming and supportive environment for Venture Out community members to explore, learn, and practice glass art.  The Glass Art Club has a dedicated building housing the studio, glass-working equipment, kiln room, and stone room.  We provide all the tools, saws, kilns, grinders, many patterns and individual work stations, along with trained instructors who teach classes for all skill levels...beginners to experienced.   The Glass Art club embraces all of the creative work we do including fused glass, jewelry, bowls, dishes, stained glass, mosaics, garden stones and a myriad of creative art works combining different mediums.

Joining the Club:  NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED - An free introductory class is provided and is needed before use of studio equipment, that explains the club and studio policies and practices, introduces equipment and teaches safe and correct equipment use.  Additional classes are offered, typically at nominal cost, in use of specific equipment and glass working techniques.  Lockers are provided for an annual fee on an as-available basis.  Those starting in fused glass (e.g. using the kiln in glass art) must take an introductory glass fusion class.  Members are encouraged to participate and support fund raising events that help sustain club facilities and equipment.

Dues/Fees: Annual dues of $25 for all members.  Lockers are $5 or $10 per year depending on the locker size, fully refundable annually.  Artists doing fused glass pay a kiln use fee of $10 per year.  There is no additional fee for equipment usage including kiln operation.  Members provide their own consumable glass project supplies, although some supplies are provided by, or are available for purchase from, the club.
